As a User Interface Developer for the SAFFIRE solution you will be working closely with release train engineers and system architects to efficiently and effectively manage the UI and front-end software development pipeline, integrate the solution, support end-to-end testing, as well as system reliability and security. You will be a key member of the development team, doing work that matters for some of the U.S. Government’s most critical missions, and utilizing the latest technologies in Cloud Computing, AI/ML, and DevSecOps.

The GEOINT Services – FADE team is looking to hire a Full Stack Developer for our work with the National Geospatial-Intelligence Agency (NGA).

More About this Role:

  • You will work closely with our product owner, software architect, and other team members to add exciting new features to our web application
  • You will compose solutions that incorporate micro services, containerization, and RESTful Web components.
  • You will use industry proven design patterns and open source tools as well as personal engineering experience to deliver and integrate a myriad of tools and capabilities to a broad set of users.
  • You will leverage a complete DevOps pipeline to drive rapid delivery of functionality to the client.
  • You will adapt off-the-shelf solutions to meet government customer needs and requirements

You’ll Bring These Qualifications:

  • TS/SCI with polygraph clearance
  • Information Assurance Certification (Security+)
  • Prior experience with maintaining operational systems

  • Understanding of all stages of the Software Development Life Cycle

  • Experience developing geospatial applications including GDAL, WMS, Digital Elevation Models (DEM), QGIS, GeoJSON.
  • Experience developing and delivering software on Amazon Web Services (AWS) or similar cloud services including Lambda, API Gateway, EKS, and more.
  • Experience working with microservices architectures
  • Experience with SAFe Agile Methodologies/Terminology
  • Domain experience in Imagery Analysis or Computer Vision
  • Technical background in Software Development and/or Cloud Infrastructure
  • Knowledge of modern front-end systems and open-source frameworks (Angular)
  • Experience with Python software development
  • Ensure applications are intuitive, effective, and deliver the customer value defined by program management
  • Move design projects through the product design process, including discovery, concept, detailed design and implementation, facilitating progress at each stage
  • Use your passion for solving tough user challenges through great design
  • Experience defining design systems and design standards for enterprise use
  • Establish and champion UX design vision, standards, and best practices to peers and program leaders that align with program goals
  • Design, visualize and communicate the user experience for our products through concepts, maps, diagrams, wireframes, prototypes, high fidelity visuals and other artifacts
  • Ability to work in a highly collaborative environment within a distributed team environment
  • Demonstrated leadership in cross-functional, highly collaborative environment
  • Demonstrated focus on continuous improvement of systems, software, and processes

These Qualifications Would be Nice to Have:

  • Understanding of agile development practices, including Agile Scrum methodology
  • Experience with automated test tools, e.g. Selenium, Cucumber, Junit
  • Software development experience in one or more software languages including JavaScript, NodeJS, AngularJS, ExpressJS, Python, Ruby, etc
  • Familiarity with NoSQL databases like DynamoDB, MongoDB, or Cassandra
  • Experience with container technology (e.g. Docker) development and deployment
  • Familiarity with a Cloud Application Platforms such as Heroku, Cloud Foundry, or Openshift
  • CompTIA Security +
  • Design Thinking certifications such as those offered through IDEO, Sandford, Cornell, MIT or a host of other organizations
  • Proven experience designing for web accessibility (Section 508 standards)
  • Ability and interest in educating others on user-centered design best practices
  • Familiarity with any of the following is highly desirable: HTML, Angular, CSS, Python

Pay Range: The proposed salary range for this position is $65,300-$134,000.
