Responsibilities

Position Description Summary:
Responsible for the support, troubleshooting, and follow-through of all internal Telecom inquiries and work requests within the region. This includes tasks related to: Planning, coordination, and support for all telecommunications services. Work directly with network and mobility staff to provide provisioning and implementation of telecommunications equipment and services. Qualifications

Principal Accountabilities (The following is intended to describe the general nature and level of work being performed. It is not an exhaustive list of all expectations.):

Knowledge / Skills:

  • Vendor Management-Oversee day-to-day relationships with voice/data service providers.
  • Coordinate with vendors, internal teams and local contacts to assure timely completions of new installations and other telecommunications changes.
  • TEMS (Telecom Expense Management Services) vendor experience
  • Administer voice/data contracts including participation in and around vendor negotiations.
  • Negotiating skills and experience with contract language, terms and benchmarking of costs
  • Analytical and problem-solving skills, as required in reviewing and assessing problems and issues and identifying a path to resolution or alternative solutions.
  • Proven initiative with the ability to make independent judgements and take actions with limited supervision.
  • Proficiency in the use of Office365 products, with an emphasis on advanced Excel techniques.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills as required when dealing with users and vendors on all matters.
  • Ability to analyze information and summarize in an understandable form and to handle confidential information.

Tasks:

  • Assure telecommunications expenses accurately reflect site services and review and provide as requested, costs allocations for individual facilities.
  • Track Telecom expenses to assure timely, accurate payments meet contract terms and SLA’s.
  • Identify errors or omissions in billing and providing resolution with process improvement.
  • Monitor service standards of vendors and, identify and correct problems.
  • Review existing Telecom services for opportunities to reduce costs through removal of excess or inappropriate services.
  • Perform regular audits to identify fraud, abuse and billing discrepancies.
  • Maintain databases containing information on voice/data equipment, services, vendors and contracts.
  • Prepare and maintain statistical tracking of telecom costs and usage by service type. Perform analyses and prepare associated reports for management as needed.
  • Troubleshoot voice/data/cellular tickets and handle accordingly.
  • Conduct special IT projects and analysis for management and internal teams as needed.
  • Place and track all new/upgrade/disconnect requests while incorporating all technical requirements for timely delivery.
  • Update operating location’s staff on technical and administrative telecommunications issues.
  • Evaluate, recommend, and implement alternatives to current voice/data services and practices.
  • Provide prompt review of all communications and requests through email, IM and company ticketing system – Service-Now.

Working Environment:

Assignment Complexity – Work on problems of diverse scope where analysis of data requires evaluation of identifiable factors. Exercise judgment within senior knowledge capabilities and policies in selecting methods and techniques for obtaining solutions.

Accountability – Use professional concepts, corporate policies, and procedures to solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways.

Impact of Decisions – Moderate impact on corporate operations and fiscal health.

Working Relationships – Regularly interact with peers and management concerning matters of diverse scope and discretion.

Scope – Work on problems diverse in scope. Normally receive no instructions on routine work, general instructions on new assignments.

Knowledge and Skills

This is a Sr. level position. Solid interpersonal and analytical skills required. Must have 3-6 years of telecommunications experience with knowledge and background in charge-back, GL, mobility, and vendor management. Bachelor’s degree or equivalent strongly preferred.
