Job description: Duties & Responsibilities

  • Minimum 4 years related experience as a Quality Engineer (or higher) performing Quality Control on Multi-family and/or Senior Living Projects (or similar) , Type I, II, III and/or V Buildings, Core of Engineers (COE) Projects, or Naval Facilities Engineering Command (NAVFAC) Projects.
  • A safety champion who leads by example
  • People and Project Management skills and abilities
  • Refined organizational skills, and the ability to prioritize tasks for self, team, and projects
  • Outstanding communication skills (listening, presenting, interpersonal and written)
  • Bachelor’s Degree with a focus on Quality Assurance or Quality Management from an accredited college or university (Bachelor’s Degree in Construction-related program and Construction Quality Management for Contractors Certificate considered in lieu of QA/QM degree).
  • Desire to work on Project Sites 70% of the time, with the remainder of the time in the office.
  • Knowledge of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, MS Project), and experience with (or ability to learn) Procore, office equipment and Internet Explorer or other similar Internet tools and experience.

Other Duties

  • Provide feedback to the Preconstruction department, as needed.
  • Participate in presentations and assist in the development of proposals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Education & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree
  • An understanding of contract documents, reporting procedures, quality control process, and OSHA and EM385 are required.
  • Minimum of 10-years of building construction experience. Experience must include turn-over of residential units to clients and property managers.

Skills Required

  • Thorough knowledge and understanding of the general construction practices and techniques, construction document reading, and construction means, methods and materials.
  • Knowledge and experience with residential construction, particularly the punch-list, turnover and customer service process.
  • Familiarity with Microsoft Office and database management tracking tools such as Latista.
  • Strong management, leadership and interpersonal skills combined with strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Capable of working independently.
