The Health Psychology Clinic is a part of the Professional Psychology Center at the University of Denver Graduate School of Professional Psychology. Our mission is to train students to develop specific skill in working with patients and their families who are affected by various health conditions, including cancer.

GSPP seeks to train students to provide culturally competent services to clients and the community. Position Summary

We are seeking a part-time licensed psychologist to oversee our health-focused internal field placement in the professional psychology center. Clients will be served both in-person and remote. The supervision can take place in-person or remote. This position is part time (4-6 hours/week) and non-benefited. Additional hours may be available if desired.

Essential Duties:

  • Hire, train, and provide clinical supervision to GSPP field placement students who work in the Health Psychology Clinic.
  • Craft descriptions of the field placements to share with students, in collaboration with GSPP’s Field Placement Directors.
  • Be willing to work with entry level students in the early stages of training.
  • Interview and hire students who best fit the positions.
  • Develop and implement training for students for the health-focused field placement.
  • Supervise psychotherapy (individual and group) cases for student therapists:
  • Meet with student therapist supervisees to conduct supervision in individual and/or small-group settings.
  • Review all session notes and reports, provide feedback, and monitor corrections.
  • Assist students in managing high-risk clients or any potential crises (in general, we are not a crisis clinic).
  • Complete student evaluations, providing consistent and regular feedback.
  • Complete 2 observations of student work per year.
  • Oversee documentation in our electronic health record.
  • Be familiar with all field placement rules and protocols.
  • Provide assistance with marketing to health community as needed.
  • Uphold GSPP’s commitment to inclusive excellence through all professional activities.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Strong relational, verbal and written communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality and follow both HIPAA and FERPA guidelines.
  • Ability to be punctual and reliable.
  • Basic technology skills, including familiarity with MS Office suite
  • Onboarding with our electronic health record
  • Ability to create an inclusive training environment.

Required Qualifications

  • Doctoral degree in psychology (PsyD or PhD)
  • Licensure as a psychologist in the State of Colorado
  • At least 5 years in the field of psychology
  • Prior clinical supervision experience

Hourly Rate

The hourly rate for this position is $50.00.

The University of Denver has provided a compensation range that represents its good faith estimate of what the University may pay for the position at the time of posting. The University may ultimately pay more or less than the posted compensation range. The salary offered to the selected candidate will be determined based on factors such as the qualifications of the selected candidate, departmental budget availability, internal salary equity considerations, and available market information, but not based on a candidate’s sex or any other protected status.
